When it comes to neck and back pain, PDR can help you get back to your life.

The Road to Recovery occurs in three (3) phases – Repair, Relief and Restore. The length and duration of your treatment plan will depend on your specific needs…all to get you back to your life.

During the reparative phase, we will focus on releasing restricted muscles, improving range of motion, controlling inflammation, and safely increasing activity levels while providing education on pain control, stretching and self-care.

During the relief phase, we will focus on isolating key muscles to improve strength and stability, increasing endurance, balancing posture and improving body mechanics to continue improvement in strength and function.

During the last stage, the restorative phase, we will solidify optimal function, strength, and range of motion, with a full return to normal daily activities and pain relief. Once you are restored, you will be back to enjoying the things you love to do! For patients with complex conditions or injuries, a physician will consult with them regularly to ensure optimal progress is achieved. After completing the program, each patient is given a home program and offered the opportunity to participate in a maintenance program to ensure the gains they achieved during their time at PDR are maintained.

MedX Treatment

MedX equipment, considered the gold standard for isolated spinal strengthening, allows therapists to safely and effectively isolate muscles in the neck and back, while allowing patients to work at a significantly greater intensity level without compromise to the disc or vertebra. Working at a higher intensity level causes the “remodeling” of the muscles, offering long term benefits and ultimately increasing strength, mobility, function, and a reduction in pain.

In a clinical study, patients with spine pain and injury have experienced an average of 108% to 295% improvement in spinal strength and mobility upon completion of the program. In addition, many patients are able to avoid surgery after completing a MedX program, which is well documented and supported by various sources.

Treatment Programs

One size does not fit all in treating musculoskeletal pain. We have many tools in our tool box to achieve the desired results.

Treatment Techniques

PDR uses a number of therapies to ensure maximum benefits are achieved. Treatment techniques are aimed at improving circulation, reducing the pain response, and promoting improved movement.

  • Muscle Release Techniques
  • Muscle Energy Techniques
  • Graston Technique® & Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
  • Self-Release Technique Demonstration
  • Kinesio Taping®

We realize that injury and pain can take a toll on a person’s life and emotions. Fear, anxiety, and depression often travel with long-term pain and suffering and need to be taken into consideration when treating the physical pain and limitations. As a result, PDR seamlessly integrates Cognitive Behavioral Coaching (CBC) into our program to address and assist with the barriers that may impede with achieving optimal outcomes.

Postural Retraining & Body Mechanics Education is an essential part of our program which is used to reduce stress on the musculoskeletal system and support good posture.

PDR’s Return to Work/Stay at Work Program for injured workers helps expedite their return to work at full function as soon as possible. This program includes an emphasis on work conditioning, including increasing lift capacities.

Our customized Home Exercise Program is designed to strengthen core muscle groups by general conditioning of the muscles. This program serves to maximize progress during treatment while serving as a maintenance program upon completion.
