What you need to know about billing

We realize your health care experience is not limited to just a clinic visit or therapy appointment. Our billing department will work with you every step of the way. PDR Clinics is an approved provider for most major insurance carriers and health plans, including workers’ compensation, auto and personal injury insurance. PDR Clinics is also a HealthPartners Medical Spine Center (MSC) provider.

Checking your benefits

If you choose PDR Clinics, as a courtesy we will perform a basic benefit check to confirm your insurance coverage. Please note, however, that we do not guarantee coverage. We always encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify your benefits including copays, coinsurance, deductibles, insurance referrals (if required), and/or visit limitations. If you’re not sure what these terms mean, please see below:


A copayment is a predetermined fee that an individual pays for health care services generally on a per visit basis. It can vary by appointment type (i.e. therapy versus doctor visit). Patients are encouraged to be aware of a copayment responsibility. PDR requires copayments to be paid at the time of service. You are encouraged to leave a credit card on file with us for convenience and/or for early or late appointments when a staff member may be unavailable to process your copay.


A deductible is the amount that an individual pays each year for eligible medical services before insurance pays. For example, a $1,000 annual deductible will require that $1,000 of eligible medical costs are paid before insurance will pay.


Coinsurance is the portion of the medical expense an individual is responsible for after the deductible has been met. Here is an example: An individual has met their $1,000 deductible and then has 80/20 coinsurance coverage. This means that anything over the initial $1000, the individual will pay 20% of each bill up to an “out of pocket maximum”. Once the out of pocket maximum has been met, insurance will pay 100% of approved, in network services.

Copays are due at the time of service.

We will bill your insurance. If you have a deductible or coinsurance that is owed, you must pay that within 30 days of receiving a bill from PDR.

You will receive a statement until your account has been paid. The last thing we ever want to do is send anyone to collections…please help us to ensure we don’t have to.
